I've seen that movie too and was seriously impressed with the health care system in the UK and France and even in Cuba. I was discussing this issue with some friends at my homemaker's club the other day and was suprised that none of them were of the same opinion as me. I can see their point that we would have to pay higher taxes when we're working but it would have been worth it to me to know that I was assured of health care no matter what condition I got into. I would have rather paid higher taxes than to pay for insurance for all of those years and now when I'm old, I don't have anything but Medicare. Ah, but it beats nothing.

I cannot believe that taxes would be more than private health insurance currently is. We would not be worse off-I refuse to believe that. And yes, there has to be a far, far better system.
