My mom needs blood transfusions and I am not sure what plan to sign her up for. Does anyone know what Medicare Plan A covers and what it doesn't cover?

Medicare Part A only covers medically necessary things like: blood transfusions, hospital stays, home health service, hospice care, skilled nursing care, and nursing home care. Hospital stays must be for at least 3 days and the time begins the first midnight after your/or your loved one's admission and does not include any hours on the discharge date.

Plan A, as you call it, is what everyone gets when they enroll in Medicare. The options you need to look at will be in the rest that can be added on. With medical issues like this, she really needs to get a Plan B at least.
