I had received a notice from Medicare that says that my oxygen concentrator has been paid for but I am still receiving bills from the company I got it from saying that I still owe the machine. Do I notify Medicare? I've tried to straighten it out with the company but they still don't seem to get it.

I would contact the billing department for the company you got your machine from. Tell them that you have papers from Medicare saying that this bill has already been paid for by Medicare. Ask them if you need to fax them a copy of the Medicare bill. If they are still not willing to help you out, contact Medicare and ask them if they will help you get this resolved so you are not receiving bills from this company anymore.

I agree with Summer. You have to stand up for yourself on some of these issues. You are responsible for that bill until you prove to them that it has been paid. If you can't get anywhere with the company's billing department, contact Medicare to see if they can help you. The phone number for Medicare is on the back of your Medicare card.

Yes, I think in a situation like this you need to contact a Medicare rep. and see if they can get this straightened out. I would keep all the bills together because they will surely want a copy before they pay it.

Be sure to document who you speak with at the company and what they tell you. That way you will have all your ducks in a row when you speak to Medicare, as well. Also keep track if you should mail or fax anything to them.
