My husband's grandma has diabetes and has to get a glucose monitor. Does anyone know if that is covered by her Medicare? Also, she has to get the lancets and testing strips for the monitor. Are these items covered by her Medicare?

Yes, Medicare does take care of diabetic supplies. Depending on whether she has Medicare Plan B and/or Plan D will depend on how much out of pocket she will have to pay.

The actual monitor should be covered as durable medical equipment but I think the test strips and lancets would come under any prescription plan that you have. Since they are consumable they are not considered as durable.

Do you happen to know if her insulin is covered? If it is will Medicare also pay for the syringes needed to give her her injections? We were talking with her doctor and they may be just giving her the pen type, the ones that don't need the syringes, but they are not sure just yet. Do you know if they cover those types of syringes. I forget what they are called but they are premeasured for her.

Medicare covers an annual (once every 12 months) dilated eye examination for all people with Medicare at high risk for glaucoma.

Medicare covers 80% of the Medicare-approved amount for glaucoma screening after the individual has paid the deductible for Part B services.
