My social security covers all my Medicare premiums right now. But I worry if and when the time comes that it won't be enough and I'd miss a payment.

Are you talking about your Medicare Part A or are you meaning additional benefits like Part B and the Prescription Drug Plan?

In the event that that should happen, none of your premiums will be deducted from your SS benefit. You will, however, get billed directly and you would have to pay these premiums on your own. If you have a savings or checking account from your bank, you may want to arrange an auto debit system with them.
